The summer month of July and August was busy. We finalized some jobs and in September we were asked by one of our Insurance Clients to help in surveying a steering gear damage on a vessel in a Baltic State Port.
The steering gear failure rendered the vessel without steering. After several surveys and laboratory test the root cause was determined to be internal fasting of bolts done with less torque than describe by maker.
We take pride in being able to assist our client and add with our knowledge our expertise and thus together with the others involved to ascertain what in this case went wrong.
